Christmas Parade
The Christmas Parade
In 1995, the members of the Jones Creek Area Business Association decided to offer an outreach event in the community that would be wholesome fun for all! Thus was 'born' the Jones Creek Business Association's (JCABA) Annual Christmas Parade.
The original 'parade' idea started out on July 4th, but it was so hot and steamy that this date was used only once and then it was decided to go with a winter event. The following year, the Christmas Parade idea was founded!
Several years ago it was decided to have a special guest other than Santa Claus and so the idea of a Grand Marshall was instituted. Over the years we have had Fred Raiford, Whitney Vann, Steve Caporatta - Meteorologist with WAFB Channel 9, Paul Gates with WAFB Channel 9, Sam Crifasi, Owner of Hi Neighbor (the 2nd business to be located on Jones Creek), LSU Baseball Coach Paul Mainieri, and Senator Bodi White to name a few. In 2021, our Grand Marshal was Jay Grymes, Chief Meteorologist with WAFB Channel 9. This year's Grand Marshall is Dustin Yates.
The Christmas Parade always has a great turnout in participants and spectators! Our goal is to make it better with each new year. If you have interest in the Christmas Parade, let us know NOW and join the Jones Creek Area Business Association.
The Christmas Parade always occurs on the second Sunday in December from 2:30 - 4:00 PM.
